In her capstone research project, ‘Asylum Seekers or ‘Illegal Aliens?,’ Salma Suarez ’24 examined political bias in US media sources’ portrayals of border violence. Her in-depth content analysis showed that right- vs left leaning sources discussed immigration and the US-Mexico border in profoundly different ways.
