Short-Term Goals

My short-term professional goals are based on wanting to be able to make a difference for young people. After graduation and upon completion of my teaching certification, I plan to become a middle or high school teacher. I have always loved education, and found my passion for teaching during my senior year internship in 2019. I would like to be able to help students who struggle in school either academically or motivationally, and provide a new outlook on education and how impactful it can be. Another goal that I have is to work as a therapeutic support staff providing assistance in classrooms to students with mental and emotional needs. Overall, I look forward to providing encouragement and support to students in education.

Long-Term Goals

My long-term goals include receiving tenure while teaching and continuing to make a difference in students’ lives. If the possibility presents itself, I will consider becoming an administrator in the school system. This would allow me to take a new path in education, and possibly provide change to the education system. I see myself providing support and working toward change for the better when it comes to education. Overall, my long-term goals are similar to my short-term goals. At the end of the day, I want to feel fulfilled and accomplished in my career.
