In conclusion, the results showed that individuals who watched YouTube and these influencers were able to constitute what was authentic in social media. Influencers must present a version of themselves that they stick to, showing their true values and honesty regardless of outside factors that might impact their true self. It is so obvious when changes are made for one specific reason, which is why so many apology videos have led to more backlash for the influencer. Cancel culture is a phenomena that, although fairly new, continues to destroy and devastate the lives of individual people with a fan base, for inappropriate behaviors that, although should not be said or done, could be seen by anyone without a fan base too. As a result of this fan base, it leads to extensively increased hate and backlash that bring down every aspect of these influencers’ lives, leading them to continually take action to become a better individual.
