Reflection

Studying Sociology within Gettysburg has prepared me for my future in the workforce. I am working on my communication skills as well as working towards creating a better environment for people of different backgrounds. My passion in sociology specifically focuses on racial equity and inclusion in all spaces. I strongly believe it’s my responsibility to now be the resource that I wish I had for the generation coming after me. I hope to connect more through various media outlets for engagement and discussion.

Short term goals

My short term goals include starting a career as a financial advisor in Philadelphia, and hope to help people within the city as well as the country reach their financial goals, combining the statistics and mathematics of finance and the sociological aspect of understanding an individual’s background and effectively communicate with colleagues and clients.

Long term goals

In the distant future, I truly want to help families like my own, coming from different countries and educate them on resources that this country can provide. I also want to continue my education and hopefully obtain my doctorate degree in order to explore further opportunities within the realm of sociology.
