In order to gain a more comprehensive understanding of fighting in hockey and how masculinity ties into the culture surrounding the sport, this project has identified many scholarly sources to help understand its following research.
The findings were divided into four different topics; masculinity in hockey, which analyzed the ways masculinity is present in hockey; fighting and violence in hockey, which addresses fighting and other forms of violence in hockey; normalization of violence, addressing the effect hockey has on normalizing violence; and social media dynamics, understanding the way people and fans interact online.
