Cooper Matthews ’24, examined audience reactions to NHL fights in his senior capstone project. Cooper’s in-depth content analysis of comments on YouTube fight videos from the last 6 decades revealed a number of gender-related motifs, including feminizing and homophobic discourse and the use of war metaphors in the construction of player masculinity.
