After graduation I want to pursue a career in either early education or marketing, although these are very different fields as of right now I am very interested in both. I have some experience preschool teaching as well as assistant teaching and tutoring in kindergartens and elementary schools and have found that I love working with all of these age groups. However I want to gain more experience working in elementary schools after graduation and I would love to have the opportunity to become a guidance counselor. I am interested in pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, as I have always admired this work and would enjoy learning more about it. Nevertheless if I choose to strive for a career in marketing I would try to get an entry level marketing job, currently I am looking at jobs in both early education and marketing. This semester I am taking a marketing course at my school and I really enjoy it. I am a business minor and I have always found marketing fascinating. I am also very interested in pursuing a master’s in business administration. In the case of either field I intend on attending graduate school within the next five years and I desire to gain more professional experience. Furthermore I desire to build a strong and supportive network of connections among others who work in the same field as myself.
Once I have graduated from graduate school, I wish to make a visible impact in my place of work through dedication and concentration to my position. I intend to find a place of work in which I feel comfortable, supported as well as inspired by those around me to improve upon my skills. I would prefer to discover an employer in which I constantly feel motivated to strive for better at work. I would love to be working at a school or company with a friendly culture in which I feel secure in asking my co-workers and higher-ups questions when I feel I need to. I would really enjoy mentoring other people entering the field so that I could utilize my own knowledge and advice to help and support other people. I understand the value of maintaining a healthy work-life balance and I hope that I am able to do this by this point in my career. I love learning and would enjoy participating in training programs or attending courses to improve my skills or gain new ones within my field. I plan to stay up to date with technology tools that cater to the work done in my field through training programs and online resources. Around four or five years after graduation from graduate school I intend on and will actively work towards attaining a promotion within my field. I would love to have built a positive relationship with my co-workers in which I feel that I can collaborate with them to improve the overall success of the company or school.
